Piedmont is a region in
north-western region of 4.5 million inhabitants and is one of the most
industrialized in the country. Bordered to the west with France (the French
Riviera), north-west by the Valle d'Aosta and Switzerland, on the east by
Lombardy, on the south by Liguria. The territory is mainly mountainous and
hilly, almost 50%, the Alps that surround it to the north and west, while the
Apennine right on the border with Liguria and Emilia Romagna. E 'a region rich
in rivers, like Po, the Tanaro Dora Baltea the Sesia, the Stura di Lanzo, the
Orc, the Ticino, the Toce (tributary of Lake Maggiore). Beautiful are the hilly
areas where there are crops of olive groves and vineyards, including the
Canavese north-west, the famous Langhe and Roero south, in the Monferrato hills
Tortonesi center and south-east. Among the lakes just to mention Lake
Maggiore that demarcates the border with Lombardy. These areas, along the
Lake Maggiore, are the main attractions of Piedmont, which is therefore an ideal
destination for lovers of nature, the landscape of plateaus and eno-gastronomic
